MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Sara Duterte’s threat to dig up and dispose the remains of the late former president Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) is uncalled for and unbecoming, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III said on Tuesday.
The vice president, in a press conference on Friday said she warned Senator Imee Marcos of her plan if administration allies continued attacking her.
“I think it’s a very bad example because what we must practice would be to respect, first of all, the presidency, no matter who the president is. We’ve done that, my party and I have done that all these years. I think the president deserves more respect than that,” Sotto said in an interview with Inquirer’s INQside Look on Tuesday.
