MANILA, Philippines — The powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) has confirmed the selection of Marilyn Barua-Yap as chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
No member objected when the CA confirmed the appointment of Barua-Yap on Wednesday.

The CSC chief is a lecturer at the University of the Philippines Diliman and an undersecretary at the Department of Agrarian Reform’s Special Concerns Office and External Affairs and Communications Operations Office.
She was also elected secretary general of the House of Representatives in the 14th Congress—the first woman to occupy the position as well as in the 15th Congress.
