The rising Filipino American motorsport star, Bianca Bustamante, faced a challenging outing at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, but that didn’t dampen her spirit as she took on the renowned Monza circuit in Italy. 

However, despite a determined performance, the results weren’t also what she had hoped for, leading her to announce a reset for the new month of October.

In an Instagram post, the first Filipina McLaren Development racer reflected on her recent experience at Monza, where unpredictable weather and tough competition tested her limits.

“Finished up Euro4 in Monza this past weekend. Big grids and strong competition, but we weren’t able to deliver the results we wanted here in Italy,” she wrote. 

A mix of rain during practice and dry conditions during qualifying hindered her ability to perform at her best, and although she battled hard, including moving from P20 to P12 in Race 3, an unfortunate pair of incidents left her finishing against the wall.

The 19-year-old racer acknowledged that the past few months have been tough, despite starting the season on a strong note. She was candid about the challenges she’s faced and emphasized her commitment to self-improvement. 

“I always want to be the first to recognize and admit when I need to improve,” she shared, pledging to use the brief October break as a time to reset and work with her team to refine key areas. Determined to bounce back, Bustamante reassured her supporters that she has plenty of fight left in her.

Looking ahead, Bustamante expressed her excitement for the rest of the season and her gratitude for the continued support from her sponsors and team. With her characteristic determination, she promised to keep pushing for better results, concluding with, “I promise to continue the fight!”

As she takes this time to regroup, Bustamante’s fans are surely anticipating her return to the track, ready to cheer her on in what promises to be an exciting finish to the season.
